According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, eating is a matter of habit. We have to ensure the habits we have promote good health.
Making changes to ingrained eating habits requires patience, commitment and a thoughtful, three-step approach in which you reflect, replace and reinforce. Begin by reflecting on your eating habits – good and bad – to determine what triggers unhealthy eating. Next, replace those unhealthy habits with healthier ones. Finally, reinforce your new, healthy habits.
Don’t panic if you make some unhealthy choices this holiday season. Simply be generous with yourself as you recommit to healthy eating.
