Fake News … Or Not

by

Much has been made about fake news sites lately. Interestingly, many of these sites are simply personal blogs that typically espouse a point of view. Researched or not, blogs should be considered more like opinion pieces than traditional news.

Case in point is a friend’s blog listed among those spouting Russian propaganda, which frankly, is ludicrous. So yes, it is confusing and hard to tell what to believe. The onus falls on the reader to validate or refute what has been published.

Too often people only look for sources that support their viewpoints. This does nothing to advance the conversation.
