Working With Family

by

Being a third-generation PR practitioner can be … interesting.

Working with a family member can be challenging and rewarding. It is important to foster an environment of open, honest communications – one that separates personal issues from professional ones. It’s neither fair nor productive to bring up age-old slights that have no bearing on the current situation.

Roles must be clearly defined. Not only should you agree on who is doing what but how much time they put in, how much money they get and to whom they report. Taking these small steps can minimize hurt feelings down the road.
