Wildfires have already caused damage to communities in Colorado this year. Three 2018 fires rank among the 20 largest in state history.

Here are Colorado’s largest-ever blazes:

Hayman Fire: Burned 138,114 acres northwest of Colorado Springs in 2002.

West Fork Complex Fire: A 2013 combination of three fires that scorched 109,632 acres in southern Colorado.

High Park Fire: In 2012, this fire burned 87,250 acres in the mountains west of Fort Collins.

To give some perspective, this year’s 416 Fire has burned 42,795 acres. For the full list of Colorado’s 20 largest fires, click here.
