Colorado boasts some of the best locations for winter sports in the country. It’s no accident we sent more athletes to the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang than any other state.
Of the 242 U.S. athletes at this year’s games, 35 are from Colorado. These Coloradans will compete in 17 disciplines, with freestyle skiing and snowboarding among the most popular.
Red Gerard, a snowboarder from Silverthorne, is one of 19 Colorado athletes competing in their first Olympics. In a surprise upset, the 17-year-old won the first U.S. gold medal of the games. Follow the action here!
