Many fruits and vegetables thrive in Colorado’s dry climate and the cold winter months that keep insects and disease at bay.
Potatoes, cantaloupes, leafy greens, sweet corn, peaches, carrots and wine grapes are some of our most popular crops. Because we are centrally located, it is relatively affordable to transport Colorado bounty throughout the country.
Colorado onions are particularly good, and according to the Colorado Department of Agriculture, we produce nearly 200 million pounds annually, ranking 6th in the nation for onion production. A bowl of delicious French onion soup is one of our favorite ways to enjoy Colorado onions.
