We wandered into Torchy’s Tacos only because the restaurant we originally wanted to go to was closed. Expectations were low. We were stunned to enjoy the best tacos we’ve ever had, and unlike some skimpy ones that are barely two bites, these tacos are huge.
Our favorite is the Alabama Shake made with cornmeal-crusted catfish, closely followed by the Trailer Park (fried chicken) and the Baja Shrimp. Burritos, salads, street corn, desserts and a kids menu are also available.
A separate bar has signature drinks and made-from-scratch margaritas with three flavors, served frozen or on the rocks.
