Summer vacation can be a stressful time for parents sharing physical care of their children. Between travel, summer activities and camps, parents can have a difficult time establishing and enforcing a schedule that is in the children’s best interests and is fair to the parents.
To minimize stress and reduce the risk of problems, provide advance notice of your summer plans to the other parent, remembering, above all else, that your children come first. Early planning and respectful communication will be helpful in eliminating or reducing conflict.
If problems arise seek the assistance of a competent attorney. Enjoy your summer!
