The college and scholarship admission process is stressful. To ease the stress and demystify the process, the Boettcher Foundation, which has been providing scholarships in Colorado since 1952, has published a book that shares what search committees are really looking for.
“All the Wisdom and None of the Junk: Secrets of Applying for College Admission and Scholarships” provides annotated sample essays showing why the example is strong or where it missed the mark. Among the tips detailed in the book: “geek out” and “go with your quirks.”
All Colorado high schools received a complimentary copy, and information is available online.
