Obstructed bike lane? There’s an app for that

Things in Bike Lanes Denver

Urban cyclists can bike without worry with the recent launch of Things in Bike Lanes Denver, an app identifying problem areas for riders. The Denver-specific, no-cost iPhone app was developed by BikeDenver and Bicycle Colorado to help cyclists avoid common bike-lane obstacles like parked cars or trash cans.

Users can see previous lane blockages, take and post photos of current obstacles and see an overlay of current bike lane infrastructure. At the end of the year, the data will be compiled and shared with the Denver Department of Public Works to improve bike lane design and enforcement.
