It is time to get out the car protectors – hail season has begun. Colorado’s hail season runs from April 15 to Sept. 15, with most hail storms occurring in June.
Last year, Colorado passed Texas for the most costly hail damage on homes and vehicles insured by State Farm. However, hail is more variable than almost any other climatic event, according to the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network.
After getting my car totaled in last year’s infamous Colorado Springs hail storm, in which hail caused $172.8 million in damages, I am hoping to avoid any action this year.
