Skiing: Best to Learn While You’re Short

We taught our kids to ski while they were short enough to have an easy landing! My husband took our daughter to Loveland — a relatively easy drive home when the going got tough. We took our twin sons to Winter Park, where we rode (again, and again) Galloping Goose, a lift serving the bunny hill at Mary Jane.

But be prepared for resistance. If you teach them yourself, patience and persistence are paramount. The payoff will be years of family fun. Savvy marketers, Colorado resorts offer a range of deals and lessons to get— and keep — kids on the slope.
