Sun Valley Neighborhood Gets a Lyft

STEAM on the Platte

One of Denver’s poorest communities has gotten a boost from a redevelopment effort supported by Lyft.

The ride-hailing company recently opened its first driver hub in the Sun Valley neighborhood. Developers transformed a once-abandoned warehouse into a 65,000-square-foot space, which Lyft shares with two other companies.

The building is the first step in STEAM on the Platte, a $65 million mixed-use project aiming to bring transformational commercial activity to the neighborhood, where 83% of residents live in poverty. The 3.2-acre site will house five buildings including a restaurant, condos and office space.
