An Industry Hungry for Regulatory Guidance Awaits

If any journalist tells you that tracking the Trump Administration’s actions on food safety has been easy, they would be lying. The recurring refrain from the folks I’ve been speaking with is “wait and see.”

But patience is wearing thin as we’ve heard few details. As I’ve reported, the industry is hungry for guidance on Food Safety Modernization Act implementation and more — particularly at a time when this administration’s anti-regulatory furor and cuts proposed at the USDA and FDA might impact food safety work.

I believe it’s fair to question what this might be signaling. For now, we wait.
