Drones Making Farming Easier

by Michael Polzella

Whether delivering vital intel to troops in the battlefield or delivering packages, drones have uses in almost every field. Now, they’ve found their way into the agriculture field. Fields and land have layers of data that are difficult to analyze using only the naked eye. Drones give farmers data on tailoring pesticides, water and fertilizer applications.

One drone, equipped with infrared cameras, can cover approximately 150 acres and provide information like field health and other detailed analytics specific to the land. The time and effort saved by drones could result in better field yields and greater maximization of land usage.
