My guest bedroom is a catch-all, my hoarder room, especially during home renovations. Shut the door, and everything disappears. Things to sell, donate, purge. Items tucked in every crevice, many with meaning and others best parted with.
A metaphor for life these last years – chaotic, full, holding on, no room to move, sad and stressful. No vision beyond what lay immediately ahead, too tired to deal.
I was finally motivated to make it habitable for a visiting friend. Something’s shifting. As I dismantled the mess, there was space and room to breathe – a newfound lightness inside – the room and me!
