Be Prepared for a Media Interview

by

I loved The Bob Newhart Show. In one episode he was being interviewed by a local television personality. Despite everyone telling him to prepare, he decided to “wing it.” Bad idea – for him and for you.

  • Watch the show in advance. Get a feel for the questions asked and how the interviewer asks them.
  • Think of two or three things you want to convey and several ways to convey each.
  • Anticipate the interviewer’s questions and prepare your answers. Don’t shy away from controversial topics if you think they’ll come up.

Take the time to prepare. You’ll be glad you did.
