Over the past few years, Colorado has seen more breweries following a hot trend in the world of beer: coffee beer. Two breweries in particular have embraced the java trend by moving beyond merely brewing.
In 2015, Oskar Blues in Longmont actually opened its own coffee company, Hotbox Roasters, for brewing its coffee beers, like the Hotbox Coffee Porter and Hotbox Coffee IPA.
For its new Son of a Baptist series, Denver’s Epic Brewing partnered with 14 roasters from across the country to create the same beer using different beans. Each variation can be tasted in the coffee roaster’s region.
