What’s not so old is not so new again

by The 100 Companies

As someone not yet 30, it’s surprising to see so many of the things I loved growing up already getting reboots. Disney live-action-ifying its classic films is a trend that’s been happening for a decade, but it’s not just Disney.

The latest movie to fall victim to the reboot trend was 2004’s “Mean Girls,” which was inspired by the Broadway musical inspired by the movie. But other than the music, there’s little new about the new movie. Perhaps I am getting old, but these types of remakes make me wish that there was more out there that was truly new.
