Although New Orleans is affectionately called the city that care forgot, the senseless New Year’s tragedy defies this slogan.
We’re heartbroken for the victims and families affected by this attack. And we are heavy-hearted for our city. No stranger to adversity like Hurricane Katrina, New Orleanians are resilient, coming together in good times and bad. We are also a city that celebrates life, with the Super Bowl, Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest up next.
We pledge to work together to be the best we can be, and invite the world to experience the joie de vivre that makes us beloved.
