My Brother’s Bar Changes Hands But Keeps It in the Family

by

Denver’s longest continuously operating bar may have new ownership but not much else will change.

The iconic My Brother’s Bar first opened at 15th and Platte in 1873 as Highland House. Through the years, the property was known by various names before the Karagas brothers took over in 1970 and renamed it My Brother’s Bar as something of an inside joke.

Boasting a large beer list and an impressive menu of burgers, My Brother’s Bar will continue its storied tradition under new owner Danny Newman and his mother Paula, a long-time employee who has managed the bar for years.
