Differences in opinion are everywhere.
In fact, my children are diametrically opposed to most any belief I hold, simply due to the fact that, well, it’s mine. While I’ve come to see this opposition as a natural (and necessary) part of the individuation process, tolerance begins here.
As we gather around various tables in the coming days, my stance will be one of discovering the many beliefs that bind us to one another rather than the handful that divide us.
Reaching this seemingly lofty (if not insurmountable) goal can take root tonight, under your own roof, at the dinner table.
