After Arapahoe Basin Ski Area ended its pass partnership program with Vail Resorts then joined the rival Ikon Pass, Vail Resorts has added 17 new ski resorts to its Epic Pass portfolio.
By purchasing small rival operator Peak Resorts, Vail Resorts is expanding its reach largely to benefit skiers and snowboarders in Midwestern cities, including Detroit and Chicago, and the Northeast, including New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
Newly purchased resorts include New York’s Hunter Mountain; New Hampshire’s Attitash, Wildcat and Crotched Mountains; and Vermont’s Mt. Snow, often named as having the best skiing in the eastern part of the U.S.
