Losing Independence Is Top Senior Fear

by

As we get older there are many factors that can lead to a loss of independence. Individuals experience mental, physical, social and emotional losses. Many people have become accustomed to doing everything themselves and often find it difficult to reach out to others to ask for help.

Whether your elderly loved ones are feeling anger, fear, confusion, sadness or guilt during their loss of independence, having patience is crucial in helping them through the process. Help them hold onto the things in their life they treasure and can control, and help them understand how to accept assistance as they age.
