Last November, in an effort to protect the Conundrum Hot Springs camping area, the U.S. Forest Service finalized a plan to issue overnight permits to campers. Those permits will be available starting April 18 and can be purchased at Recreation.gov.
Before you purchase your permit, make sure you understand a few key rules that apply to the area. Keep in mind that permits are limited to two per person, and all on-site food must be sealed up in a bear-resistant container.
Most campsites have limits of between two and four people, though one site accommodates six.
