Motorcycle Relief Project Helps Veterans Cope With PTSD and Other Injuries

by

The roar of the engine. The smell of exhaust. The beauty of the open road. The rush of adrenaline. “Throttle therapy” is real.

And it’s helping veterans with PTSD and other invisible injuries re-engage in civilian life through adventure motorcycle rides planned and managed by Colorado-based Motorcycle Relief Project. Formed two years ago, this nonprofit has taken veterans from all five branches of the military on rides in Colorado, Arizona, California and Utah that include workshops to help them manage injuries.

Participants return re-energized, ready to take on the challenges that face them in a whole new way.
