Winter Weather Got You on a Treadmill?

by

The “dreadmill” … Like them or not, treadmill workouts can help maintain fitness during winter. Try these tips to keep you on track.

Warm up and cool down properly. Warm up and cool down normally or walk for 5-10 minutes prior to and right after your treadmill workout.

Use a slight incline. By setting an incline of 1-2%, you can better mimic the workout you would get outside.

But don’t set the incline too steep. Stay at 7% or below and only for a short amount of time. Failure to do so can cause Achilles heel and calf problems.
