One of the best things you can do to move yourself toward a big financial goal is focus on making good financial decisions one day at a time. Track your success on a whiteboard or in a journal. Celebrate streaks and don’t beat yourself up over a backslide. Just begin again.
Find new (inexpensive) ways to experience joy and pleasure. Take a walk. Talk with friends. Write. Volunteer. Read. There are many ways to reward yourself that don’t involve a lot of money.
Keep big goals in mind, though. Those are the ones from which you will take great inspiration.
