Since 1969, Denver has been hosting its own celebration of the German beer-filled event, Oktoberfest. This weekend, Sept. 21-23, and the next, Sept. 28-30, around 50,000 Coloradans will gather on Larimer Street dressed in lederhosen, chicken hats and beer maid costumes for the second-largest Oktoberfest celebration in the country.
Denver Oktoberfest’s brew on tap will be Spaten. There will also be live music, keg bowling, the annual Long Dog Derby, Bratwurst Eating Competition and the Stein Hoisting National Championships.
The event runs 11 a.m.-midnight each day. There is no cost to enter.
