Finance company OnDeck analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data for more than 300,000 organizations in every major city and state to find out how many of the businesses in each area were owned by women. Looking at the biggest metro areas in the United States, St. Louis leads the pack with 24.84% of companies owned by women, but the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood region trails just slightly behind that at 24.8%.
In terms of the states that have the most female-owned businesses, Colorado came in second at 23.8%, just behind the top state for female business owners, Alaska, which came in at 24.7%.
