Starting a New Year Workout Plan Right

by

What’s the biggest mistake people make when launching a fitness routine? Doing too much too quickly.

Rather than maxing out your repetitions or running five miles on day 1, ease into it. Start with light weights, fewer reps and lower mileage. Set realistic goals for progression. Address aches and pains immediately. All too often the best intentions are sidetracked by sore, achy muscles.

Snowy and cold out? Take the opportunity to focus on stretching, ride the stationary bike, do some strength work or simply rest. Anything is better than nothing, but you shouldn’t rush to reach your fitness goals.
