“Kendrick’s Ale” to honor Kendrick Castillo

Kendricks Ale

Six months ago, Kendrick Castillo, age 18, was killed while protecting his classmates during a school shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch.

Last week, Strange Craft Beer Company released a Hefeweizen beer in his honor. Strange Craft owner Tim Myers brewed with Kendrick’s dad, John, for more than 20 years as their children would play together.

Kendrick’s Ale is a German-style beer brewed with Colorado honey and orange peel. The Lincoln Park brewery is set to brew this beer every year to keep Kendrick’s memory alive. Half of the proceeds will go toward the robotics club at the STEM school.
