What’s better than a gooey, melty grilled cheese sandwich? How about a grown-up version with some tasty surprises.
Start by heating a pat of butter on medium-low, then let your imagination run wild. Try mashed black beans, sliced roasted red pepper, grated smoky cheddar and sliced avocado for a Southwestern twist.
Go Italian by spreading basil pesto on a slice of sourdough bread then topping with thinly sliced prosciutto, grated mozzarella, sliced tomato and arugula. Or thinly slice an apple then add grated sharp cheddar, chopped sage and walnuts. Crunchy deliciousness loaded with omega-3 and antioxidants. Yum!
