The fourth Saturday of every year is National Hunting and Fishing Day. Its purpose is to celebrate the contributions hunters and anglers make every year to wildlife conservation.
In 1972, President Nixon signed the first proclamation of the day, writing, “I urge all citizens to join with outdoor sportsmen in the wise use of our natural resources and in insuring their proper management for the benefit of future generations.”
Consider taking a young person in your life hunting, fishing or to a park. Sharing love for the outdoors is a great way to bond and enjoy fresh air without distractions.
